Hey.

Im considering buying Acer Aspire One Happy (Green) for myself...
I would ask You about opinions on this netbook. It's cheap, should be able to run fs9 with reasonable detail level but without much gfx addons (no active sky or other rex), just basic flying stuff.

There are two versions available, cheaper with Aton 450N and 1GB of RAM and more expensive with Atom 550N and 2GB of RAM - I would go for more expensive version, because of RAM and faster, dual core CPU. ANyway it will all work at half power of my current desktop setup.

Anyway buying this may end with disabling my current desktop setup for longer while. On other hand netbook will give me option to be more active in diffrent activities, including running school lessons for my students.

Oh, one more thing. Happy netbook comes with preinstalled Windows 7 Starter AND Android on board. I have also wondered about using X-plane mobile version for android on this comp, including online flying...

I have searched other netbooks or laptops in Poland, but in exception for Sony Vaio we have practically no other green stuff here, and i mean color, not eco-frendly :) Vaio is 5x more expensive, and i would better like to have desktop configuration for that price...

Any toughts?

I thought you were meaning eco when you wanted a 'green laptop'

I think dell use to do various coloured laptops, but unsure if the deliver to Poland.

Personally I wouldn't fancy running FS9 on a 1.6ghz processor at any decent fps even with the standard setup and no addons, even though it is well within the minimum requirements
