Names of our aircrafts

Dear Air-Childers

I am one of the last arrived here so hope not to irritate anyone with this comment but... what names do we choose for our aircrafts? I see a strange collection of little-known singers, actors, now we have an Embraer named "Vigili del Fuoco" (i.e. the name of Italian fire brigades) ... am I missing a subtle but profound meaning or names are chosen at random?? :?

I rather propose to choose 1 or more threads (for example by type of airplane) and honour in our fleet men and women who are worth remembering. Given the philosophy of our airline, we could start with aviation heroes and "mankind heroes", i.e. those who helped and help making our world a better place - sometimes paying with their lives. I think of Martin Luther King, Chico Mendes, Albert Schweizer etc

I trust many fellow-pilots may like this idea, in case we could call a poll on this. And yes, if our management needs some creative help with the proposal of new names, I'm here.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Most aircrafts are named after UNICEF ambassadors Giuseppe. And a few are named after children stories.

...yes, like "Vigili del Fuoco". Thank you Freek.
Also we have some Charter aircrafts, named by ACH pilots. This was a little "Thank You" to all our Beta-Testers in the beginning of Air-Child.
But thank you for your kind offer, Giuseppe.

That's interesting indeed... and worth more visibility. What's the purpose of honoring all those "Goodwill Ambassadors" if only few people know who they are? I think adding a note to our website would help visitors (and many fellow Air-Childers) understand... Anyway this thread made me discover that my "Vigili del Fuoco" (Fire Watch) are UNICEF Ambassadors - amazing; I definitely didn't know that. I still would like to see Martin Luther King, Albert Schweizer and others honored in our fleet - perhaps when we run out of Goodwill Ambassadors? :)
Fly safe
