New Hardware and a lot of questions

Hello together,
as I wrote in my introduction, i´m working on a new hardware for my FS 2004.
Thats what i decide to buy:
Mainboard: MSI H61M-E33 B3
PCU: IC I5-2400 (4x3,1Ghz)
1TB SATA Harddrive
4 MB DDR3 Cl9 1333 Memory
ATI Radeon HD 6770 1024MB (DVI/HDMI)
a 23'' Widescreen Monitor
and MS Win7 Ultimate

What do you professionals think, is it possible with this configuration to fly:
- online
- using ifly737NG for FS2004
- using TrackIR5
- using the latest Airport Scenerys (Mega..., etc.)
- using UT Europe 2004
and Ground Environment Pro

with my old PC System i got only 5-7 FPS with the PMDG at EDDM on ground. So i hope its goeing better with this one.??

Is there something better than UT Europe an GEpro? Does it work together with the airport scenerys from GAP?

A lot of (maybe) stupid questions, but you are knowing better as i, after a long break from flightsimming.

So, thanks for your answers - I appreciate your help :thx:

Hi Werner!

I´m pretty sure FS2004 will run fine on this system. In fact it runs fine on most systems nowadays. Using FS2004 only, you may be better off using a stronger dual-core processor instead of a quad-core, because FS won´t use more than one core at a time (afaik the Affinity-Mask-Entry doesn´t work in FS9).

One thing that I would change is the hard disk. I´d rather use two smaller HDDs, one with nothing but FS, the pther running Windows (and possibly other applications).

If you want to use FSX in the future, I think it will run decent on this system.

I´ve never had a problem with any airport scenery using UTX (in FSX however).

I hope that helps.
Cheers!

Hi Daniel,
thank you for your response. That helped me a lot. I am not shure if i will change to FSX in future, therefore i think keep the processor. I change to two HDD - thanks good idea
What do you think is the best terrain/mesh addon for FS2004?
