I just got home, opened "my" VA website, saw a lot of "Active Flights", went to acars map and happily smiled! Seven green VATSIM flights at the same time! This doesn't happen too often, so let me say thanks, gentlemen!
No, I'm not one of those who say online flying is better than offline or Vatsim is better than Ivao. Everyone has to find his own way. What pleases me is the fact that, if it happened more often, controllers will finally get used to the AIRCHILD callsign, instead of calling us "Air China" or "Air Charles" (I had them both)
We noticed that some people still seem to prefer using a common callsign instead of the ACH, even if they fly for the VA. Sure, there's other reasons, too, which we know about and accept. But the more pilots use the ACH callsign online, the easier we will be identified in the future. So thank you for "spreading the word"
On another note - and as you know - flying online with Air-Child is not focused on VATSIM alone. However, our IVAO support is far from good, at the moment. We know it and we are trying to improve it. I'm currently testing a script to detect and mark IVAO flights on the map and in pireps the same as with VATSIM flights. It's already working fine but we need the VA registration with IVAO before we can use it 'officially'. We are working on it, but we could need some support by experienced IVAO members. This would also include a staff position for IVAO related affairs. We are already in touch with some members but the more the better
So, if you are interested in this, contact Norbert or me by PM or email.
