Tom and I were flying to LPMA this Sunday at 18:00. Tom started his approach and I was TOD when lisboa control showed up. Usually the case  . Any way , something called one drive eng restarting popped up with a green loading bar. Then I got the little spinning blue circle and FSX ctd. Anyone know what the devil one drive is and how to stop it? Is it a Microsoft update?

Cheers

Hi, David. It's some sort of . Probably enabled by default in Win 8. I think it wanted to synchronize data with the web.

I don't have WIn8 but a for it makes me think a lot of people want to get rid of it.

I always spend a while turning off unnecessary services in Windows after installing it; it makes it a lot less crashy. Just Google a bit for unnecessary services and see what happens if you turn them off.

I have the same experience with crashes; FSX has to work very hard at the moment of approach. The airport scenery comes into view, the autopilot has to work hard and ATC is busy. When Windows decides to do anything stupid at that moment it all goes wrong. I can't remember any crashes at cruise altitude.

You hit it on the nose Barthe :D . That's what it is and what it was doing! Strange tho. Never heard of it or had it show up before. Googled how to turn it off so it doesn't do it again. So I assume it was storing my computer in the cloud. Just great. :x what's next? It's probably going to rain little ones and zeros .

Thanks mate
