Ok I bought the pmdg 737 800 and I fly the Air Child colours have had some problems as this is my first time way for default aircraft I love the aircraft this is a great model.

It took me about 3 days to master the start up sequence so I started learning the FMC

Am not expecting to notset up the aircraft that's the reason I got it and don't want Ctrl e to start the engines, I've learned a lot but after scanning the manual it shows how to set up the FMC in detail the problem I have is that it don't explained how to locate the charts it expects me to know the info.

I know how to set up a route ie from fs route

Amsterdam - Schiphol to Liverpool John Lennon would be

Eham.amgod.supur.mimva.tolsa.okama.emlon.legro.nalax.libso.goles.upton.desig eggp

The problem is I pick runway 27 to land at Liverpool and i have no clue what intersection Sid to leave on or what star to line me up to the runway 27 this is what the manual dose not explain and my route goes down the drain and I end up having to manually fly it. As this aircraft is so complicated it normally ends in the same result when I try to fly it by hand there is just to much to do and change in the flight deck that I forget small things or just crash by turning the wrong things off. All I was wondering is, is there a website or program to create a full route for the FMC including Sid and star for runways

Thanks

May god look after the souls of the lost MH017 R.I.P

Hi Wes and welcome to the forum, the Air-Child VA and to aviation in general!

First of all: congrats for the daring feat of mastering the PMDG 737. Don't let complexity discourage you. I took some weeks before my first "offical" flight... but it's worth it.

The charts for SIDs, STARs and approaches of any kind can be found on the web. Mostly with services like VATSIM or IVAO. These are online "flying"-communities that provide a superb service regarding charts of desired airports. Check out VASTIM for example (EDIT: these are just german airports...). For Liverpool you may check out this site . And for Amsterdam here

The charts you're looking for can usually be searched and found via google if all else fails. I for one search i.e. for "ENGM Charts" - (just an example).I usually find the charts pretty quick - should be no prob for you too.

Check out YouTube for some pretty comprehensive stuff on how to land the B737 with ILS. YouTube will be your best buddy for the learning period.

And of course you can always come back here and seek help - and you shall find it :)

Happy landings and a great day to you!

Pete

P.S. And yes, let's mourne the lifes lost on Flight MH017. More victims in a sensless conflict :(

Thanks peter

I will most defiantly keep on practicing it's gone from sitting at the gate unable to get the engines to fire, and now I can get setup and take off with no problems I just can't land the dam thing yet but I am doing a 2 man job on my own so I will get there before Christmas haha

Welcome aboard Wes . Peter pointed you to my site of choice for charts. Here's a couple more: airnav.com,and skyvector.com . You can get routes from vroute , vataware , and of course when you book one of our flights. Simroutes.com is excellent to search or to generate a route then download the route to use in the pmdg FMC. Check out fs2crew, very good program that gives you a copilot. Nice experience. Hope to see you in the
