Hello everybody.

My name is Damien and I am 31 years old.
I live in Merzkirchen(Rheinland Pfalz).I have to children 1 son(4 years) and a daughter (4 months).

I fly FS since the FS98. I stopped for a while because I didnt have a lot of time(work etc).
Now I have started again. I would like to try the online flight, but it seems that I am a little scarred about that  .

Hope to have a lot of fun with you.

Damien

Hi Damien+welcome :!:
Now I have started again. I would like to try the online flight, but it seems that I am a little scarred about that

Just take it in steps:
- First feel comfortable again flying off-line with the FS9 ATC
- Then fly for Air-Child with an ACARS client or Flight Keeper/FSpassengers
- Then go on to one of the on-line networks. I can also advise you to first join a simple (peer to peer) on-line flight to get a feel for flying with other human pilots. In FS9 you could use .

Taking these steps might also help you find the way you enjoy flying the most.

I used for a while because it offers an environment with a bit more rules. In the end it might get annoying and not everything is realistic but I learned a thing or two from it.

It's best to start each step with a smaller plane. There's a huge difference between flying off-line, a peer to peer flight and the bigger on-line networks. On the bigger networks you can encounter very experienced pilots that are very serious about flight and might want to help you. But it's also a very human world; some pilots might be annoyed by rookies, some people join on-line just to frustrate others or interfere. Most on-line pilots find their way in all of this by joining groups of other pilots. We also have group flights here.

Hope this helps, greetz...

Hi Damien!

A warm welcome from me too :hi: Glad to have you join the ranks of us virtual pilots again! If you need help - just holler!

Greetings from EDWB,

Pete

Hi,
please do not be afraid of flying on a network. Best thing is to tell the controller that you are a beginner, this helps a lot. Important is that you are prepared: You really should have valid charts - this is a must, maybe you have an alphabet list with the right spelling, tell the ATC in your flight plan that you are a beginner - they should be patient. ATC beginners ask pilot to be patient. Do not choose a big online event for your first flights - choose a normal day on normal airports. I advice to choose the vatsim network. Ok this guys are serious - but they have very helpful and friendly controllers like Florian Harms - you can learn a lot.
If you wish I am sure you will find ACH pilots who will help you through the first steps via an online flight while connected via teamspeak. On Vatsim you find special training days and flight school for online flying, here you learn the first steps, the right phrases, the behavior on controlled airports. A good way to start:
So go for it - Cheers Tom

Hello everybody

Thank you for your messages. :)
Yesterday I was OBS at EDDT and I wrote with the ATC. He answered me a few question. It was a very nice guy.

Regards

Damien
