UNICEF prepares to respond to 43,000 children affected by Tropical Storm Washi (Sendong)

Manila, Philippines. 18 December 2011. UNICEF is preparing to respond to the needs of approximately 43,000 children affected by the devastating floods brought on by Tropical Storm Washi (local name Sendong) in northern and western Mindanao, Southern Philippines.

The tropical storm swept through the southern island during the night of 16th December, dropping the equivalent of one month's rainfall in just one day. The resulting flash floods, which rose very quickly during the night, killed at least 330 people, with 270 still missing.

We're still in one piece with my family even I was away from my home.
Our home sustained damage with not more seven feet of water. Even we did preparations before the storm, the raging waters still penetrated our second floor of our house.

Currently, Were staying to our second house as of this moment.

22,000 LBS Cargo delivered

Ok Genno,
not much we can do with a "virtual" Airline ...

But we think at you, your family, your friends and all the children in the area!

:!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:
To all the pilots with the big planes flying:

   Bring as much CARGO to RPLL :!:

I promise to deliver every lbs to RPML.
Just let me here know, how much Cargo you delivered.

:!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

I really don't know how to thank you guys for your efforts and support of this cause. Your names will never be forgotten.

As much I wanted also to fly with you, but unfortunately I may not be able to do so since my main PC were slightly damaged and I don't have such internet connection in our second home.

It's also really disheartening that as of this moment, that the casualty reports are still rising and there's still lots of missing persons and children. Totally surpassing 2008 Typhoon Ketsana that ravaged in Manila City and probably the most deadliest tropical cyclone before 2011 ends.

:'(

Cool Morten,

5,000 nm for flight ACH7345 to go. So time enough for the CARGO-shuttle SP-RBA to head back from RPML to RPLL, get a quick checkup und be prepared for the next CARGO-flights.

5 flights till now (22,000 lbs each) = 50 tons CARGO allready delivered.

Will try to check the progress of your flight at VATSIM ... maybe i can be online to watch you landing at RPLL. The last two days there had been ATC at RPLL.

Hope to see you there,
regards
hans-dieter

Good morning Hans-Dieter,

so I provide stuff for another 4 flights of cargo to be finally delivered ;)

I did not plan this long haul flight for today, so it may happen that I have to disconnect from VATSIM for some minutes due to other business.

CU in Manila :D

Had a nice online-meeting with Morten this afternoon.
at FL 330 8) :!:

somewhere in the "no-where" (i think over russia)
gladly no controler nor supervisor was online

approached from FL 350 in his back
desc to FL 330 and stayed on his left wing-site (distance 1 - 2 NM) for some time

TCAS working fine ;-)

to bad i had time-sync active; so it was dark night outside and no chance to take a
screen-shot.

Maybe next time.

Happy landing Morten,
hans-dieter

Unglaublich. Es einen log bei vataware, kann aber sein, dass der File nicht korrekt abgeschlossen und entfernt worden ist. Ich habe aber sicherheitshalber einen Ausdruck gespeichert. Kann man den PIREP so nachmelden?

Hi Morten! We normally don't do this but ... it's Christmas, and I know how annoying it is if the sim crashes short of the runway :|

I checked on Vataware but it seems your flight has not been logged. So, we need the following data:
- ACH flight number
- aircraft registration number
- departure / arrival airports
- time off blocks
- time airborne
- time of touchdown
- time on blocks
- distance travelled

only if available:
- fuel at departure
- fuel on arrival

Thank you!
... and thanks for your PM regarding our charity event

Leaving RPLL with the first 10 tons of CARGO from
Mortens delivery.

Heading RPML.

Morten, if you are using FSUIPC, you will find an auto save function there (registerd version).

For FS9 users: you will find this as a freeware tool here:
http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html

This can be very usefull next time ;)
