Easiest tool for Aircraft repainting

Dear fellow X-Plane users,

I am creating my first repaint. It will be for a Pipistrel Panthera I have recently purchased (try it!, it's a great plane!). However, I find Plane-Maker not the best tool for the job: aligning the layers is quite a tedious work.

What do you use for this job?

Well, just take a look in the map "liveries"...
This is from my configuration:

You see... only .png documents. You can make them or edit them with any graphic application. I use Photoshop. You do not need to use LR's Plane-Maker.

You do not have to look for an "easy tool", but for an easy procedure.

Thanks Ricardo. I use gimp. I guess the more used to moving layers and components, the easier it gets.
