'Slack'. It's a chat platform, but also shares files, easily posts images, and can be organized into 'channels' by topic. There are apps for all phones and computer OSes.

Hello.
I wonder if this va is interested to use an addition to the forum? In another fse company we use slack to communicate and get known to each other, is that something for us?
It does things more fun,

I can make a group for us there if you guys are Iinterested :)

If you do so - please ask Peter if it is possible to add a chat window on our ACH site.
Cheers Tom

Yep.
But I have to invite people too add them to the group. Don't know exactly how to get emails, PM me to those who are intrested then ;-)

Not too fast! Have you thought about the possible downsides of integrating APIs from other companies into our site? If we do so we probably have to ask all members to agree with this company's EULA etc. I had a glance at this Slack site and it's a commercial company, with it's own commercial gaols. It could introduce all sorts of privacy issues. (And it would add a really big ugly blank space in my view of the site because I block such things).

I'm not against individual ACH members gathering on whatever chat platform and spreading the word about it in our forum but I'm very much against integrating it.

If a lot of pilots here really want a chat window it would be better to have a look at a really safe open-source alternative or something that's really limited to and managed by our own site and software.

Barthe.
I agree with you on integrate, but to use it i thought additional to the forum, is a good idea, and you get to know other member much better then in the forum, it's a social program, and no intentions to get rid of the forum, but i belive we need a more attractive way to communicate then it's get easier to have fun, make new friends, etc....

As I said no need to integrate a chat window on site, maybe a join button to slack only so invitation to the group can be sent :)

What do you think about that idea?

Yes, I think some sort of button or invitation between the other social media buttons is actually a better idea and avoids all kinds of legal and technical problems.(And also saves a lot of useful space on the site by opening the chat in another window, tab or application.)

Re: slack and TS

Actually I think more important is getting back to teamspeak. I will have a chat about this with Peter. I think we do not need more then 10 connections at a time.
