Found this video, if what he says is true then YAY!
Summary: He uses a program that was designed for Skyrim and that resizes textures and compresses them. So after his tests he lowers his VAS-usage by 10-20%.

Tested it on FlyTampas Vienna and found that it is true, about 10-15% less VAS usage.

It should work if you minimize the textures….
