The legendary DC-3
. Of course you could argue what's really the birth date of an aircraft? Is it the end of design process, first prototype, first flight or the first regular airline service? I would say it's the day it gets it's certificate of airworthiness. But at such a respected age it doesn't matter much.

The DC-3 is still used as an airliner or freighter in some countries and many experts believe it could easily become the first aircraft to be 100 years in active service. It is still flown by forest and fire services and used in upgraded form( ) for scientific expeditions and the military.
