Hi Guys,

i need a new graphic card, what do you think about this:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX550 TI Grafikkarte (PCI-e, 1GB, GDDR5 Speicher, 2xDVI, Mini-HDMI, 1 GPU
thx

Getting between Your GTS 250 (512MB version) and GTX550 TI... There is not big diffrence, GTX IS better, but in this compare i would rething if its worth to buy something little better...

Your actual GPU runs around 470 GFLOPS and GTX is around 692 GFLOPS
Your actual GPU is better than mine actual 8600 GT (113 GFLOPS) :D

Hi Frank,
as I am an xp user I do not really know where the bottleneck of FSX lies. FSX is on win7 running with DirectX 10 - XP with opengl. in xp the bottleneck was more or less that it does not support multi core. you could put a real strong gpu but it becomes only marginal better. in xp10 it becomes much better with multi core working. I have here a nividia GTX580 with the latest driver and I am quite happy with this.

But I have something else which could be worth to try. As you are using FSX with Directx 9? or 10? you can try something for anti alising which eats normally a lot of performance. please go to: download the "injectSMAA v1.2" read carefully what it is and follow the read me (easy). For me it cannot work cause I use opengl - let me know if it helps to improve FPS with a nice picture.
Cheers Tom

ok Guys, thx for the moment, i will see what mines my wife

Frank please tell me the result of this graphic enhancement files which I send you - if you try it.
or anybody who try this please tell me the result - it seems very interesting. I saw that companies like CTRYTEK (Crysis) are using this idea.
Cheers Tom

Tom, i saw this in PMDG forums, this is not for FSX. I don't remember why, but will try to find original post and explanation from PMDG staff

thnx for the link - you do not think it is worth to play with it - as you now know what it is. maybe the FSX is grown meanwhile that good frame rates are possible now. xplanes latest beta 10.04b6 is very good in frame rates. The HD Rendering option is still killing frames and does not look very good with the latest nvidia drivers.
anyway have a nice sunday Tom

I love x-plane, but i'm waithing for:

1.better version then 10.04b6, still have serious problem with turbulence and clouds, i can't fly jrollon crj200 on my system, only in clear weather and small airports. Even with x737 and QPAC a320 i get 15fps in clouds vs 40-80fps on ground / clear weather.

2.IXEG 737

3.PMDG products for XPL

4.better CPU for me ;)

Cheers

Zeljko
