Aerosoft Airbus X Extended VA discount?!

Hi Board and Pilots,

Most probably the majority of pilots who are interested in the Airbus X are following and waiting for the new Airbus X Extended edition which has an expected release date is early September for download version.
Some more info about the product:
http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/to ... ew-part-2/

I do not want to go in to the endless "Which developer and airbus is the better" topic, rather would like to know if we as air-child members can we expect VA discount?
As it is mentioned on the linked forum the discount seems to be generous for VAs

I am just asking as we had and have already some discount offers -many thanks to the management for this- so it seems reasonable for me, beside the fact I do not know how complicate and what are the pre-requests to do such a discount agreement.

So, if anyone knows what can we expect on this specific product, please do not be shy to share it :)

Thanks,
Tibor

Well there's no information from Aerosoft about that, yet. Generally, the discount agreement with Aerosoft is completely unilateral ;) Means that Aerosoft sends us a list of discountable products via email from time to time. However, in February they said that this list would be extended, over time. As you can see this didn't happen until today. Still the same 4 add-ons. :|

Personally, I doubt they will give a discount on a brand new product - but you never know. Let's see after the release ....

Thanks for the information, anyhow the price seems to be reasonable, so I think I will give a try when it will be released 8)

I used to grow up with 2D panels and basically in IFR I have never used the virtual cockpit.
The wilco erj was the first plane where I tried to take-off and land in virtual cockpit. For me the good side is a much more smoother and realistic speed feeling which gives you the feeling you are really siting in a cocpit. On the other hand it can give you some trouble when you need to push or operate anything on MCP or in general in the cockpit. My personal experience shows in virtual cocpit mode it is much more important to properly set-up a joy, where you need to put such functions which I was not considering in 2D, like A/T master, A/P master, GA button, etc.
Also for an FMC for me it is a must to have it in 2D as I use it one 2nd. monitor with a touch screen. I would not be able to use it in virtual mode and I think would be also CPU or GPU consuming to render continously 2 virtual window.
As a result I think I try to get more experience with virtual cockpit and for me would be a big "step" to buy an application which one is clearly based on virtual cocpit operation.

What is your experience or preference pilots? Maybe any usefull hint or settings for virtual cockpit?
Should it be a separate topic?

I was like you a 2D pilot only changed to VC flying a couple of months ago. I do like the 3D feeling for takeoff, cruise and landing but been using the 2D overhead, fmc panel, ... for better comfort during prestart checks.

cheers,
tobi

26.68EUR is high competition price than other airbus, and aerosoft was done well on the VC,even real airbus pilot was said:i can't see what different between than real airbus.

Looking good! Let's see how she flies and if the systems are worth it
Yeah, one more promising step in the "Mission Impossible" to create a halfway realistic bus sim

Not sure if you seen (or use) this tool already:
http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=ezdockcam
It let's you setup free camera positions in the VC (and elsewhere) and assign them to keyboard shortcuts or joystick buttons. Basically what Active Camera did for FS9, with more options. In my opinion a must have for using VC in FSX.
