Regular flights not so attractive than charter flights

Hello

when I look at our statistic I see, that we have beaten the number of flights from 2011 and there are 3 month remaining this year. That is a great result...

But I can also see, that the number of regular flights is decreasing - just every fourth flight is made from our flight schedule. Is there any way to make these regular flights more attractive?

It is a pity that all the work of creating schedules is almost for nothing :'(

One way could be to get more points for regular flights... but thats maybe just one way...

Hm, hm... Maybe you can ask yourself "Why am I doing more charter flights than scheduled?"

I know the answer for myself. I prefer to fly with small aircrafts and short distances in Chile, Araucanía or Patagonia. Air-Child has no scheduled flights for small aircrafts. Most scheduled flights there are for B737, CRJ2, F100 and MD11 (both not usable with X-Plane 10), B744 and A340. With my favourite aircraft at this moment (DHC6) I only may fly charters.

But what is the answer for yourself?

The scheduled flights are a combination of departure and arrival airport (at a given day and time) with a specific aircraft.
I do not know if it's possible, but I think scheduled flights without a specific aircraft would make these flights more attractive (Peter?)

Ricardo, don't take it personally.

Believe me, I ask myself and I know, that my part of charter flights overall is with 48% much to high.

Current I'm on a way around the world with the E190, and this I cannot realize with scheduled flights - parallel I'm on my 'Fly and help'-Tour with the Piper Cheyenne, which is my favorite plane at this time. And these flights are flown without any VA.... Or I charter flights to take part in events like the "Goldbirds" Event between DGAA and Sao Tome....

There are many reasons for charter flights. But the relationship in general is getting more worse.

2010 we had a bit more than 3500 regular flights and est 4000 charter flights (46:54).

In 2011 the regular flights are near the same but charter flights increased to near 7500 (30:70)

And in 2012 these flights relationship will get much more into 20:80 relationship.... and the year isn't over yet...

At the end we come to a point, where we have no need to plan schedules and we are running in danger that scheduled flights are playing a minor role...

Does anyone knows, if the 'Jumbolinos' will be added to the charter fleet?

Don't worry, I don't, but... I believe that if we want to change the world we must begin changing ourselves, and not "mañana" but right now. ;)

thank you for your compassion, but don't worry, I don't feel bad. From the beginning on, one of our philosophy was, to provide as much as flexibility to our members. The charter flights are one of this.

That's not real. But we want to have a real part. That's the shedule.

Also no problem for me. An other Air-Child philosophy is, that the VA is made by it's members and not by the staff. So if there is more interest to fly charter, then everything is fine. As long as one person wants to fly the shedule, it's worse to do it.
B.t.w. you know we are working on the economic part for the VA. This will atractively sheduled flights. Belief me... ;)

Yes I know. They will and also to the shedule.

Scheduled are only flight by specific airplane on predefinet routes. You may choose in briefng at what time You want to fly it.

I fly almost only scheduled flights this year...

My point is: with scheduled flights you can't change departure - arrival - aircraft. A scheduled flight has also a date and a time, but you can change them.
If you want to fly with an aircraft that doesn't have scheduled flights (DHC6 in my case) you can only fly charters. No problem, it's fine. It's only a fact.
