Hi. I recently purchased the PMDG 747-400 and just learned about 80% of the FMC. I was wondering if I selected the default Boeing 747-400 for a flight, will the estimated fuel be accurate for the PMDG 747-400 with the Rolls-Royce engines in the flight planner? If not, are there any tools or websites that can calculate fuel for the PMDG 744? Thanks :).

Hi Nareg,
HAPPY NEW YEAR

As far as I know is the calculation of the B737 738 and the B747 400 based on the PMSG planes. I think Norbert did those calculation but he uses FS9 maybe there are differences between FS9 and FSX.

But did you try and saw how it works? I am using the PMDG B747 and I use the calculation of Air-Child. There are other planes where it is very uncorrect like the LSH Maddog MD82 there I use the intern plane calculation.

Go for it, check it out and sent an info if you discover big differences.

Cheers Tom

Nareg, Tom is right - if you use the Air-Child flight briefing you should get pretty useful fuel and weight calculations for the PMDG 747.
Another option would be the application which gives you very accurate fuel calculations for a couple of high quality add-ons, including PMDG. Only drawback: the fuel calculation is only available in vroute premium (payable). But you only pay once and use it for lifetime.

Thank you both for your answers. I will try and see if the Air-Child briefing page will give me accurate fuel estimation.
