X-plane 10.20 and plug-ins

Hello Air-childers... here my new strange experience:
I updated my x-plane to 10.20 (build 102014) 64-bit and added a plugin which works very well (XPUIPC) but now when I try to activate the others e.g. XACARS and Xsquawkbox before flying I can't find them anymore. Their files are still in the resources--> plugin folder but they don't appear anymore in the menu on top of x-plane... can anyone explain me why and what should I do to restore them there?
Thank you in advance

Dear Tom

these are the plugins I used and still have in the resources --> plugin folder but do not show up anymore under the 'plugins' tab of x-plane menu:

http://www.xacars.net/download.php?f=28 ... 8c6a948ce8

http://www.xsquawkbox.net/xsb/wp-conten ... vatsim.zip

I thought this happens because the above plugins are not updated yet to the 64 bit version of x-plane but if I am the only one having this problem there must be another reason... any idea? Is there any way to operate x-plane 10.20 with a 32 bit setup? Any help/feedback enabling me to send some more pireps to our VA is highly welcome. Thank you in advance.

PS: on top of all, the following application does not sync with x-plane anymore - i.e. it doesn't show the region of the world where my aircraft is locate.

Using X-Plane 10.20 (64 bit) you must also get the plugins version for 64 bit.
At this moment you don't have any 64 bit plugin for IVAO, VATSIM or X-FlightServer, only for NetFlight.
If you want to use IVAO, VATSIM or X-FlightServer, you must use X-Plane 10.20 (32 bit).
If you want to fly with 64 bit for Air-Child you must use XPassenger (it has the XAcars functions).

Edit: FSWidgets GMap has a 64 bit plugin version!!! (I use it)

Hi Ricardo, thanks for the information. Is there a way to switch the latest version 10.20 installed by the x-plane installer on my pc to 32 bit or should I download a different version? If the latter option applies, where do I find that and should I remove the 64 version from my PC?
As for the FSWidgets Gmap, I wonder if the reasons why it does not sync anymore is that I installed another app called Plan-G - do you think could this cause a conflict of some sort?
Again thanks for your assistance.

Giuseppe,

In your root X-Plane folder you have "X-Plane" (the 64 bit application) and "X-Plane-32bit".
You don't need to go back to older versions. Just use "X-Plane-32bit" with all your old 32 bit plugins (included the old plugins for IVAO, VATSIM, XAcars, etc).
That's the advantage with X-Plane 10.20, you can always choose between 32 and 64 bit.
Just be careful about memory shortage when you use the 32 bit version.

I know nothing about "Plan-G". If you think there is a conflict, deactivate it.
FSWidgets GMap works fine with X-Plane 10.20 (64 bit) using the correct 64 bit plugin.

Excellent - thank you Ricardo. I hadn't noticed that x-plane 10.20 is offered in both version. I launched the 32 bit version and now all my dear plugins are magically back and working, including Gmap. I assume I have the 32 version also of this last application so if you could share the link of the 64 bit version I'd be very grateful.
As for Plan-G, it's a great VFR/IFR flight planner tool available free of charge (donations welcome) here:

Thanks again and see you in the skies.

PS: what's the advantage of the 64 bit version over the 32? So far I see only downsides including ugly propellers renditions of my Carenado planes...

Sure, as always... from the FSWidgets WWW-site:

Oops..., "Plan-G", just like "XPUIPC", are only for Windows.
But there are enough options for ALL X-Plane users: , , , , , just to indicate a few... Anyway, thanks for the tip.

The 32bit - 64bit problem was exactly what I thought. The only thing is to wait for the developpers.
