Help needed for XARCAS setup (X-Plane 10 64 bit)

Hi!
I recently installed XPX 64 bit on my machine, along with the fantastic FF 757 and the JARDesign A320.
Normally, I fly FSX and my pireps are done with FS Flightkeeper.
I found out in Air child's docs that you recommend using XARCAS for creating pireps with X Plane. I find the instructions on the XARCAS page for the installation within XPX 64 bit quite hard to understand. Any help to get it going (which file in which folder etc.) is highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

It's "XAcars". You do not tell us which OS you are using. Because you were using FSX, I suppose you are using Windows. Bad news for you. As far as I know XAcars and XPassenger do not work fine with Windows. They can be used only with MacOS X (that's what I am using).
You can use XAcars or XPassenger if you use X-Plane 10.x 32-bits with Windows.

Saludos,

Thank you for the fast answer and sorry for the mistake with the "R"! ;-)
I am using Win 7 64 bit, so unfortunately, I won't be able to report my X Plane flights...

You will, but using X-Plane 32-bits, until XAcars or XPassenger have a solution for Windows and Linux.

I am using XPassenger on Windows 7 64Bit with X-Plane 10.

XPassenger path:
X-Plane 10/Resources/plugins/XPassenger

There you will find a config.ini file.
The first rows should look like this:
Code:
<i>
</i>[ACARS]
host = www.air-child.com
pirep = /pirep/xacars/pirep.php
flightdata = /pirep/xacars/flightdata.php
liveacars = /pirep/xacars/liveacars.php
username = *your Air-Child ID (ACH0000)*
password = *your password*

Start X-Plane
Be sure your engines are OFF!
Go to the Plugin-Menu -> XPassenger
If you have booked a flight type the Flight-Number and "Fetch via ARCAS"
The system will now try to get the data from the Air-Child-Server.
Now press "Start Flight"

On arrival shut down your A/C open the menu again and press the "Send PIREP" button.

Good luck ;-)

PS: There is a thread about X-Passenger:

Hi!
Thanks a lot for your help!
I downloaded and installed XPassenger without Problems.
When I press Fetch Via Acars, the flight plan Shows up in the route window of the flight op menu.
But when I press Start Flight, nothing seems to happen anymore...

After that, you can check at our "pilot's lounge" - "on duty:" list...
Did you see your flight there?
If yes, check anyway the "Live Watch"-map. Do you see your aircraft/flight there? Are the flight data okay?
If yes, everything is working fine.
After arrival, after you totally stop the engines, check the "Last arrivals" list on the "Home" screen..
If your flight is there, do not worry anymore. Everything is working fine.

Yes, the flight data were okay, on the live watch map, my flight didn´t Show up, and the Status page of Xpassenger showed "flight not active!"

Alex, are you there? Do you have an answer and a solution?

PS.- Alex is Alex Lagos (ACH0879), the author of XPassenger.

I double checked all the Settings and entries in the .ini file, but no luck, it doesn´t want to work.
Just to be sure, are these entries correct:
[ACARS]
host = www.air-child.com
pirep = /pirep/xacars/pirep.php
flightdata = /pirep/xacars/flightdata.php
liveacars = /pirep/xacars/liveacars.php
username = ACHxxxx
password = xxxxxxxx

I'm very sorry. I've checked your settings and they seem to be okay.
Maybe your password is a complex one and the plugin can not resolve it?
It's just a guess... :think:

Hello Michael

I use Windows 7 64bit with X-Plane 10.25 and XACARS.
On my machine this configuration is working but only without XPassenger installed!
Without XPassenger:
- Live watch is showing my flight on chart
- Flight shown in pilot's lounge
- sending pireps is possible
With XPassenger installed:
- ACARS not working anymore

For me it is ok, just sending primary flight informations without any secondary stuff comming from XPassenger. If there comes a solution that it is working together on my machine I like to use it.

Many words for short conclusion:
Try to de-install XPassenger and I think XACARS will work fine on your machine! (hope so :) )

Best regards
Daniel

i agree use X-Plane 32-bits, until XAcars or XPassenger have a solution for Windows this would really works, i also having a same problem on 64 bit but when i use X-Plane on 32 bits it works
