FS Economy uses the database from FS2004 for the airports, the original without any updates. This means users of FSX, X-Plane 9 and X-Plane 10 can have some problems: missing airports, different ICAO-codes, etc. When we prepare our flight briefing we can also find the same problems at our airports databases.
To correct this problems step by step we've decided with Peter to update our ACH-databases where needed.
An example: the "small" airport of "C Faa H R Borden" in Argentina has the ICAO-code "SA1B" in FSE, but I couldn't find it in X-Plane 10 nor in the standard airport databases. Looking for the name of the airport I could find it with the ICAO-code "SAVJ". But, this airport is missing with both ICAO-codes in our Air Child airport databases. We must update the data for this airport.
Because the location of the airports in FSE is defined by latitude/longitude and not by the ICAO-code, we could change or use any ICAO-code so long the latitude/longitude coordinates are correct. In this case we can use the correct/current ICAO-code: "SAVJ".
Of course, in our own Air Child airports databases we shall always use the correct/current ICAO-codes.
This problem doesn't occur only in South America, but in the whole world. Every ACH-FSE pilot can get it.
When you get this, missing airports, wrong/different ICAO-codes or similar problems, please send Ricardo a PM with the information (Remen in FSE, Ricardo or ACH0422 in Air Child). Thanks in advance.
