Just grabbed few photos from C130 mishap with pole crew on board.

One thing is WHY this plane look like, and why Poles messed it that badly...

BUT

Second thing: HOW did they landed safe that Herk without both elevators :D

Shame (for messing Herk) or respect (for landing with so much damage)? :D

Wow! Looks as though this is close as one can come to dying without doing so.

Are the Poles compentent enough to fly C-130s by themselves or do they still need our assistance?

As tawdry as possible

For 22 millions $ for training, they are competent enough and for sure need no asistance to fly with NATO scrap.
Let me recall ever perishable "brand new" F16's - I mean the Polish edition from US "sell-out".
This Herk (1506) was/is 40 years in service. Probably remember the days of the war in Vietnam.

Irrespective of the causes of the event, amazing is the fact - how the hell they managed the landing without horizontal stabilizer (probably lost during steep dive pull out (?)) ??!!

Crashlanding, then tow-back to base? :) See that gear coverings damage or damage near top of wheel dumpers? at least -600ft/min or even more, remember that Herk is able to perform strategic landing witch include very steep dive before touchdown :D

The Herks are at least built for the legendary "Sarajevo Approach" which is part of nearly every airshow nowadays.
This approach requires a very steep dive before the runway, and quite upon touchdown they apply full reversers. They are able to stop within 300 meters or so, although they do not use the 3° glide angle :)
This is stress the fuselage at it's best :D
Looking at the facts, the pilots MUST have been in excellent training !

Obviously you guys are absolutely right, I know what this plane it is able to perform with a good pilot at the controls. With or without the 4 g's - that's piece of cake for herk. ;)
Furthermore military and civilian flying are two different worlds. 4G for the Airbus pilot is a horror, while the military pilot only yawns. Tactical landings are also standard for the C17's in Iraq or Afghanistan.

However...this case has been classified as an aviation accident. No one calls committee of aviation accident investigations after an emergency landing. Specially seconded Polish committee shall investigate the matter on the spot, structural demage or human factor ? - we have to wait for an official report.
Anyway the most important is, that no one suffered from health. Piece of metal, you can always fix ;)

..and..yes - Poles can fly very well :p
