Hi folks!
I know this thread is a few months old, but since I'm new here (and from Canada), I thought I would respond. Here are a few facts about hockey. Hockey was first played in the town of Windsor in my home Province, Nova Scotia. Now, that is what I believe to be true, but, the real truth is...
Early to mid-1800s:
Ice hockey as we know it was first played in either Windsor, Nova Scotia, Kingston, Ontario or Montreal, Quebec, depending on who you believe and how you read the evidence.
Sidney Crosby grew up playing hockey in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia which is now part of the Halifax Regional Municipality... where I live. I wish I could say I know him personally, but even though his family home is only 10 minutes from mine, I have never met him!
Also, I don't think I ever want to go through another tournament like that. We Canadians love our hockey, but we get VERY frustrated when our National Team have "shaky" games. There were a few moments when I thought I was going to pull out all my hair... and I don't have much left as it is (as I am 52 years old)!
