AID TO PAKISTAN - OUR BIG EVENT THIS WEEK

Users Local time
Dear ACH and other Pilots,

indpendently of our regular hub inspections and other scheduled events, it is our spontaneous commitment to react if distaster hits those who become victims. Reacting to human suffering, we would like to invite all pilots to provide an air bridge between Karachi and other Pakistan's airports, as described below:

Air-child Virtual Airlines hand in hand with Virtual Pakistan International Airlines Organization invite all pilots willing to bring aid after the flood disaster in Pakistan to deliver supplies to and from Jinnah International Airport Karachi, Pakistan's largest international and domestic airport, on Sunday 12 September, between 15:00 and 18:00 UTC. Fly to or take off from fully staffed OPKC, from or to any airport of your choice. See suggested airports below.

Every completed flight to or from Karachi during this time will trigger a donation of 1 Euro by ACH VA to UNICEF and 5 USD by VPIA under the 'Imran Khan scheme'. All the funds will be allocated for humanitarian aid in Pakistan.

It’s a great opportunity to visit Pakistan and bring real help to those who suffer:

Sunday 12 September, 15:00 – 18:00 UTC.

Thank you Mario :)
Zahedan in Iran (UL125) is only a few miles from the border with Afghanistan. How it relates to access this part of the route to civilian traffic (perhaps using HF only) ? I ask only out of curiosity ;)

Below, courtesy of , two great charts, very useful during the whole flight:

Re: AID TO PAKISTAN - OUR BIG EVENT NEXT WEEK

I completed a couple of test flights in Pakistan recently, with the sceneries (provided by VPIA).
I flew from OPRN to OPKC, and from OPKC to OPLA.
Must say that the sceneries are very nice. But for some reason, at moments, at the airports, frame rates tend to go down drastically. You can test them before flights on Sunday and adjust your display settings to avoid bumpy landings.
The timing of the event will meet the sunset over Pakistan - get your cameras ready!

Re: AID TO PAKISTAN - OUR BIG EVENT NEXT WEEK

Great event. Thanks for your hard work to realise this event.
I've added the event on our site on facebook and twitter.

Hi xplaners - I made a fault in the ILS corrections of OPKC - now it is like it should be - please check it in the xplane secrets area.
Unfortunately I am for working in the swiss mountains on this weekend, so I will not participate - but I am sure there will be a lot of AirChilds.
Tom

42 in, 8 out, 16:10 Z :)

In addition few first photos. Those with night are taken with real time. Those with day are made with same time, but with changed time in sim, to view something.
Sim is XPL 9.60rc2 with scenery from XPlane secrets area. It looks like that scenery is not in exact same location as sceneries for more popular FS, but that You can see in some screenshots, that planes are taxing via grass, not tarmac.

Was configured for Lahore. I took Karachi APP in 30 sec without any preparation (confusion caused by not our fault - more explanations from Rafał), but I think we went pretty well. Fortunately, we knew each other (CTR) from our daily pl-vacc business, so tactic was developed in a few seconds :)
Excellent event, just a pity that the small shadow of disorganization, but it was nice ;)

1.) of all, thank you Rafal for bringing up this event.
2.) many thanks to the people of the Virtual Pakistan International Airlines Organization.
3) special thanx to Tomasz Sokolowski and Tomasz Wydrzynski who helped out at ATC positions and did an excelent job.
...and last but not least: all pilots who have joined this event.

Best regards
Norbert

P.S.: Tomorrow we will inform you about the total amount of flights and money
