Just curious to see if anyone plays Rfactor while not flying?

http://rfactor.net/

If there was a few of us we could get some online racing done at some point.

Re: Rfactor - racing simulation

I played this for some time Andrew (I don't remember exactly..v1.1 or something like that) :)
I swapped it for the SimBim products: Race07 and GTR2, currently GTR Evolution and RaceOn.
Recently finished an entire Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Mod season - 5'th

Re: Rfactor - racing simulation

Tomasz, I have always been a simbin user, GTR, GTR2 and GTR Evo.

Been using Rfactor for a few days now (v 1255) and been mainly driving with the Megane Trophy which is a great little car to blast around in. Only problem with playing online on public servers is, I have hardly ever made it around the first corner without being punted off the track by someone behind :wall:

Re: Rfactor - racing simulation

It's true, especially on servers that allow to use all the driving aids - too much damn crash kids there :S
Personally, I like the pilsbierbude.de servers (GTR2). Very good drivers, no driving aids and fast servers.
It would be very nice if we could build our own Air-Child league :)
I think the best based on GTR2, due to the large number of available addon tracks, cars and a very realistic driving physics (by some MOD's).

What sort of numbers would you think are needed? I'm thinking at least 5-6, but not sure there will be that many on here, though there may be a few more than just us two.

I will have to find out the disc and install GTR2 again. Where do you get your addons from and which would you recommend?

Re: Rfactor - racing simulation

It depends how many will want to join, with 6 we can build a pretty nice starting grid.
Of course you will be head of the team Andrew, your name is after all a legend - Frank is someone in your family?

Already mentioned (best one):
, with very good Audi A3 RS3, VW Scirocco, Caterham CSR 320bhp, and many many more, with almost all the tracks around the world.
Further addons:

Tomasz,

I am looking at that 'Pilsbierbude' site you have mentioned above, but not quite sure how it works.

I see some mention of an autoupdater, that installs 4gb of tracks and cars into your game. Does this need to be installed?

How do you actually join races? Do you just go online and join the server (not looked online in game yet) or do you sign up to races on website prior to race?
