LiveWatch and IVAO

Sometimes I use IVAO (I was testing CSLs). When I checked LiveWatch I couldn't find my flight nor my aircraft :S
I looked at IVAO "Into the Sky" on my iPhone. I was there. No problem with IVAO. I checked with the online flight map of another VA (nice tool btw " ")... and I was flying there... (see picture)

But... I wasn't in the list of "active flights" nor in the list of "on duty" (see pictures).

My XAcars was okay (I think... see picture)

Finally, after landing I checked the "last arrivals" and... I was there, back on Air-Child...

My point is: who can correct this problem? (Peter?)
If the online flight map of Air-Child (LiveWatch) can't work with the data of IVAO, let's say it to the pilots. Then we must all fly on VATSIM or offline, or with IVAO but using another tools (like I did this time).

By the way... it's every day funnier to fly with Air-Child (using X-Plane and MacOS X Lion). That's why I think (and I say it) that here and there maybe better can.

Xacars is Your problem.

That little thingy is sending only current position, but not flown distance. Current distance and live position are calculated on ACH server, but if Xacars cant connect for while to ACH serv - serv will cancel live seassion for Your flight and write last known flown distance. From that moment You are still online, flying BUT not gathering flown distance and being not visible on active duty/live watch of ACH.

New version of xacars may have better live activity thread, but for now only hope is to have good internet connection and have no lost packages on the way.

Good side for whole stuff is that number of flights done and flight time are most important from ACH point of view. Number of flights tells about gathered money, and time flown makes diffrence in gathered points (and rank in company).

Summary: for Xacars - wait for new version and fly as much as possible, ignore any missing live action on ACH site and have fun with getting cash to UNICEF.

xacars-Problems

Hi
this morning, I had again a problem, getting xacars startet. The booked and to vatsim filed flightplan was shown correctly after typing in the ACH-callsign and press "flight-data via xacars", but the "start xacars" button remained unable. :(
Rem. I didn't change any setting in relation to yesterday, when it worked fine.
Regards

Slowly, guys ... if possible, do not mix different problems in one topic :no:

@Ricardo:
I can hardly say from here, why your flight did not show on the map. If your flight number was filled in as shown in the XAcars screenshot, then it should have displayed. Even if your IVAO flight number or your booked flight was different. For Live Acars we only check the 3 letters ACH in the flight number.
Please understand that Air-Child live acars is totally independent from any IVAO or Vatsim streams. It reads the data from your PIREP/ACARS tool. That's all. As Szymon wrote above, it can happen, that a connection gets broken, and despite being very reliable, XAcars may have problems to re-establish the acars stream. Other than that I have no explanation. And if it only happens once, maybe it not such a big deal.
I don't know exactly what you mean by your last comment but of course everything could be better. In flight simulation - with or without VA's - there's a lot of different applications, add-ons and scripts trying to communicate and cooperate. Often things go wrong, and if it was only the Air-Child web scripts we could all be happy. Also don't forget that many things in flightsimming are offered for free by people who dedicate their time to it. This goes for XAcars and for Air-Child.

@Christian:
Are you running Windows 7, by any chance? I already heard about the gray start button and think it might have to do with admin rights in Win7. I can not reproduce it, since I disabled UAC on my system. If it persists you could try to get help from the developpers on http://xacars.net

xacars-Problems

Yes, I do run Win7(64), but I run all Fs-Progs as Admin. the curious thing is, sometimes in workes, today it didn't. I Wrote a PM to Bernhard Harb, who's name I found in the xacars-manual. Perhaps he can help.
I keep you informed

I see now what was my problem. I didn't know that LiveWatch used only the data from XAcars and it has nothing to do with the online networks (VATSIM, IVAO or others). If this is true, then I must search the problem in XAcars.
Looking again at the preferences in XAcars I see that they were inconsistent with what I was using. I had "offline" but I was flying with "other network: IVAO"...
A simple answer for a simple question (my style).
Thanks for your help, and sorry about the confusion.
