kAcars support is planned for the future. As far as I'm aware it does not provide much more functionality than XAcars, but it may be an option for people who fly for other VA's that use phpVms.
kAcars is mainly designed to work with the phpVms framework for "ready made" VA's. Unfortunately they do not provide a documentation or SDK - just a php module that relies on parent functions in the framework. In other words: we have to analyse how it works and adapt it to our needs.
My second question is does FS Captain will be set as an ACARS device for Air - Child.
Work on FsCaptain integration is still in progress. The drawback is still that is does not have ACARS communication. Also see the post by Petr Sach, from earlier today.
I also recently found this tool: http://www.virtual-dispatch.net, which I think looks quite interesting. It's a free tool for flight planning, and it provides ACARS for VA's (however, no PIREP functions yet). I think we will also provide support for this one, hoping they will add reporting, soon.
VirtualDispatch communicates through XML messages, just like kAcars, so maybe we can pack both together in one data transfer script.
