Airplane & things in ACH [discussion, all welcome]

Lots of very good input here. Thank you guys. I especially like Thomas' idea of using the same schedule for different aircraft. I often stumble across the same problem when looking for a flight.
As long as the aircraft type matches the flight ranges, this should be possible. However, it would drastically increase our fleet number, as we would probably copy the schedule of one AC over to a new one (the existing AC all have their own schedule, already).
I will check what's possible, and how ...

As for all the other comments on flight schedules, I'd leave that to Norbert. Winter/summer schedule sounds nice, but given that we already have like 2700 connections that have to be kept up to date with AIRAC cycles (about 5 to 10% changes every month) ..... See the work behind it?

Wi began to wonder do we really need scheduled flights at all and if we shoud concentrate at charter only, especially for cargo operations...

For sure that would give us more flexibility in terms of used fleet, independent of aircraft type: heli, airliners, cargo freighters, bush flying, flying boats...

Hi guys,

I just want to state that I like scheduled flights: you have to go to places of which you did not even know that they have an airport (BTW: Posnan is a quite big city in Poland, in German also known as former Posen) and a route is provided by the dispatcher as well. So, the only thing you have to do is to check for a freeware add-on (at least an afcad) and start boarding.

However, we have two limitations with scheduled flights:
1. routes between popular places, e.g. those for which high quality add-ons are available, are sometimes missing.
2. routes are not available for the envisaged aircraft type.

Constraint 1 can be bypassed by charter flights.
For problem 2 the management could check whether it is possible to select the aircraft for a scheduled flight at own discretion.

Best regards
Morten

Mybe like normal airlines we should have two different flight schedules. For autumn and winter with a lot of scheduled flights to the swiss and "mountains" country's especially on weekends (friday afternoon till sunday evenings). And spring and summer with more scheduled flights to Tunisia, Spain, Morocco etc. not only from the hub airports but also from bigger airports in the country's.

Any comments welcome. One more thing is question to Peter or Norbert about technical possibilities of such solution.

Yes, a nice idea Rafal. It's not a question of technical possibilities. It's only a question of time. Let's see what we can do ;)

Hello

little bit old topic, but I want to ask our management, about one thing. Is it possible to change settings in professional carrer this way, that it shows only plane parked at the current airport in combination with current day of week. For example if you fly Embraer 190 G-VAPA and you're in Warsaw you got two possible flights to loww and to essa. But if you are in essa you can only fly to Warsaw of course only from monday to friday. When you are there during the weekend you cannot fly with this birdie. I wish airplanes were displayed according to the schedule by days of the week in which the fly. If it is not entirely clear let me know I will try to explain exactly what I mean.
Greetings

PS. Of course only in case when with this change you don't have to rewrite the whole code :)

With my knowledge of mysql it looks like adding in one place few digits (like SELECT flights "WHERE day = $current_day")... But i do not know exact ach code for selecting flights...
