FS9 Crash & Xacars Data

Hi all,

I had FS9 crash on a charter flight from EGSS-CYOW right on final, after a 7 hour flight. I'm using Xacars for the Pirep data but had problems resuming the flight data after restarting FS9. Some data dropped out Xacars but it's all in the log file. I'm hoping I can still claim the hours flown on this flight and I've emailed peter@air-child.com with the info.

My question is, what is the most recommended software to use for Pireps? Which one deals with FS9 crashes the best and enables you to resume logging after a sim crash? I saw the list of Pirep software that can be used in the manual so just wondering what is the most popular (besides FSpassengers)

Regards,

Jermaine

Hey, Jermaine!
I'm not familiar with all the ACARS systems that are used in AirChild, however in my experience FS Flight Keeper handles crashes really well (automatically going into suspend mode and then resuming upon restarting the flight) and it also supports partial PIREPs, for example you can start recording/logging the flight even while airborne if you forgot to start it on ground and it will still allow you to submit a partial pirep for the segment of the flight that was flown.

That's right, +1 for FS Flight Keeper. It's not only for reports, you can see flight profile, weather, vertical profile, overal flight rating, even landing rating (feet/min)
You can Try free demo for 30 days(i think)

If you want to buy it, go to VA Discounts section of Air-Child, it's under "pilot's lounge" and you can request special discount for ACH pilots.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the responses! I'll go download the FS Flight Keeper trial and check it out. I'll let you know how it goes 8)

Thanks again,

Jermaine...

Hey guys,

Just tried out FS Keeper... It's a keeper for sure! I quite like it so I'll be using this from now on I think.

Thanks again for the advice,

Glad you have it sorted! :) Also consider the added benefits of using it as a comprehensive logbook, "black box" and analysis tool, it's a nice product overall.
