Unicef real flight operations

hello people, good afternoon!

As its topic indicates I wonder if there is any place we can see the flights that UNICEF is holding?

I'm afraid you will not find this on the internet, Luis. Although the provision of medical aid and food, especially to areas of war or political instability, as well as areas struck by natural desasters, is one of UNICEF's main tasks, they do not have an own carrier line or flight service on that behalf. As UNICEF is a part of the United Nations Organization, most of their flights are operated by the UN. For this purpose the UN run a special flight service, called the .
Apart from that, UNICEF also receives support from partner airlines, like BA, who enrolled their Change for Good programme years ago and regularly support UNICEF with free flights ( ).

As we state on different pages of this website and in the Pilot Manual, Air-Child is not a counterpart of some real-world charity airline. In other words: we fly for UNICEF but not as UNICEF ;)
We could have made this VA a special (virtual) service of the UN, but, as I replied to Daniel del Rio in an earlier thread, the work of the UN is covering so many aspects that it's really hard to follow. So we preferred to concentrate on the humanitarian aid for children that UNICEF covers.

Hope this somehow answers your question ;)

Hi Peter!

well you just did not answer my question because I really have suspected that there would be no place to see this kind of operations in UNICEF, and I already knew the Change for Good program with companies such as JAL and Finnair. the aim was to recreate even a few charter flights in the banner of Air-Child, but then I will continue to do as I have done through the news!

big hug Peter

Yeah, in that case I really misunderstood your question ;) Nevermind, maybe the info was good for someone, at least. :wonder:

As far as I know, regular UNICEF provision flights currently cover especially Somalia, Yemen and Pakistan. But there are certainly a lot more. Best place to start any research is unicef.org

I bet it will be good for someone

what I do regularly is to see the news in the several unicef channels or do a search on their site and do the same flight, for example in this first post I make this same flight to the Congo , I think it would be very interesting if Air-Child had a way of reporting on this type of operation and make this kind of humanitarian flights

Interesting idea, Luis, and I already have some ideas how to do this. Will think it over. Anybody else is welcome to add further ideas/suggestions.

Any help you need, count with me. If more ideas come to my mind I will post them ;)
