From windy and turbulent Gibraltar, we will take off and head south to Tenerife North, to find out why a clearcut difference has been made in the ATC phraseology between 'departure' and 'take off'. After the horrible crash of two 747 these two words are never to be confused again ... With 583 fatalities, the crash remains the deadliest accident in aviation history - more info .

Who bothers about separation and wake turbulence nowadays

Nice pictures guys, Unfortunately I can hardly ever join a flight on tuesdays.

Indeed it was a hard job to fly in formation by 738s, due to TCAS automated functioning. Whenever aircarft got closer than 1,5 miles to another one on the same flight level, it would disconnect the AP, start turning and descending suddenly, to avoid collision. But we had fun anyway :D
Who bothers about separation and wake turbulence nowadays
And who cares for gear down at FL380 and speed of 0.8 knots ;)
