Hello Air-Child members,
maybe you have seen the post from Genno:
http://www.air-child.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=1363&p=7712#7712

It’s a tragedy and UNICEF needs more help fort this region:
http://www.unicef.org/philippines/media ... 17886.html

So we will organize an urgent action event which will be held this week from Thursday 22. Dec. 10:00 UTC to Friday 23. Dec. 10:00 UTC.
Air-Child will pay 2,-Euro for every flight to RPML which will be reported between this time. You can start where ever you want. You only have to land at RPML to be counted. Also you can fly online or offline. It’s your choice.

We will transfer all the money directly to the Philippines UNICEF section.

Well done Norbert :!:

Hope the airline has some savings ...

Maybe you can count in my flights from today

I'm happy, we can support UNICEF and the children even more now :)

Regards,
and thanks to the "headquarter" of the airline

Hans-Dieter

To add to Norbert's post: We made this an "Air-Child only" and "online/offline" event with a 24 hours time frame, so all members can take part without having to fly in the middle of the night. Anyway, if you plan to fly online (Vatsim or Ivao) it would be great if you'd post your planned departure time here, so other online flyers can join you, if they like.

Actually, this is the main problem we are facing when it comes to special events. Since Air-Child is not "making" any money (all donations by ACH partners are adressed directly to UNICEF), most of the funds for these events are taken out of our own pockets (Norbert's and mine), on top of what we regularly donate (being sponsoring partners as well). However, there are great members in this VA, and some have agreed to support this event. Only through this we could announce a special event, right before Christmas. If anyone else would like to contribute with a few Euros, please contact us. Maybe we could even raise the donations to 3 or 4 Euros per flight.

ps: and don't forget to post some nice screenshots of your trips

Edit: In the news on our home page and in the above post (before it was edited) I wrote about a Manila fly-in. To avoid any confusion: the event's destination will be RPML - Cagayan de Oro, on Mindanao island. This area in the southern part of the Philippines was most affected by the recent typhoon.

The route Genno mentioned (RPLL-RPML and back to get some more CARGO) is pretty nice (short 1.x hr flights).

Hope to see many ACHxxxx-Flights the next days :)

Regards,
Hans-Dieter

On AVSIM you will find a freeware scenery for RPLL:

Sorry, it doesn't work, all additional buildings are shown as well as the default buildings. There is no AFCAD, that could cause this problem. But this will not be the first Airport I fly to without any scene - and it will not be the las one :)

Hello

I just joined Air-Child to participate in this event. Does this mean I shall pick any available plane for Charter Flight to fly to RPML?

Also, a newbie question: If I fly off-line using FSPassengers, am I allowed to accelerate time?

regards
Jayson

Why do you expect us within the next 24hrs? As I remember the EVENT will take place on the 23rd and on the 24th of December.... or am I wrong...

Normally I've planned one or two flight tomorrow morning (today is my last working day (yes, yes, yes)

As Hans-Dieter wrote: Pick any plane from charter

If off-line means not flying on VATSIM or an other network then the answer is yes, you can. But in any case you first have to book a flight. This can be a flight from the shedule or a charter flight.
If you want to use FsPassengers, you will find the configuration file in your profile (click on "pilot's lounge" / "my profile" / "personal files").

And if you have any other question, please have a look into the pilot manual, which you will find in the "documents" section, or post a message here in the forum (like you have done ;) )

Best Regards
Norbert

It's 10:00 UTC :D

I will fly this evening (evening in europe) at about 19:00 UTC from RPLL to RPML and back... I will fly online on VATSIM. But I will also turn on TeamSpeak, so we all, offline and online flyers can talk together.
Hope to see many of you.

Norbert
