New feature idea...

I don't mean the points should drop like a stone, just a little to keep pilots active. Otherwise we might end up with lots of inactive Senior Captains.
The only way to filter it, is the minimum flight per period or bonus point.
I really hope that Airchlid get new future as I really like the organization.
As you state we should do something to join all pilots on flying share cockpit or events, but time is a real problem.

Lot of good ideas. Also would like to see multiple legs where you can land, refuel , reboard passengers and take off again. ACARS ? That being said, want to keep it a hobby and fun. If it turns into a job...
Not so sure about losing points. Some members are away for some time because of work. Tom and Norbert for example may be away lengthy periods of time on film shoots. I may have misunderstood your point suggestion tho.

Hi, you're right, I thought about this already. The solution would be pausing an account, which is already possible I believe. A pilot could request a leave/sabbatical for a limited amount of time. I think this should be done manually so pilots can't abuse this system. The pilot could just reactivate his/her account by filing a new flight report.

The general idea is that pilots who leave without notice for a long time(some months) lose quite some point which automatically demotes them to lower ranks. If you're away for say 2 weeks you might have lost some points so you're worried about your rank or you dropped one rank down because your points were just on the edge. This would be the right kind of incentive to do some flying.

I know losing points feels a bit uncomfortable when you first encounter it but I noticed with other games that it really gets you hooked.

Losing points might also add balance when you introduce bonus points for missions/flights. Otherwise pilots might advance too fast.

I also think different wages(points) for various careers helps this system. A pilot who's been away for a long time without notice might choose to switch to Basic career because his/her rank is too low to fly an airliner. That's OK but his/her points add slower in this case so it also takes longer to regain the former rank. That would be fair, I think.

Hello

You're talking about losing points for inactive. For me it's OK .It's OK because it may increase number of flights, but only when you change the options in pilots profile that every pilot will be able to "pause" his carrer in the profile. NOT after a message in forum.

And there will be no problem with flights time overdue.

I also last time haven't flown for over two month because of the work. So maybe this is the way to solve the problem.

We should only ask Peter "the coder" is it not too much work to put this future.

Greetings

If people want the option to automatically pause their account then the profile page would be a good place for it. I'm not entirely against "DIY pause" because it saves the admins a lot of work. But there must be something to prevent pilots from abusing it. One option could be to "pay" for a pause with a few points. You could easily restore these point by flying once or twice.
