Christmas 2009 ACH VA Group Flight Event

Julenissen’s Postkontor, Torget 4, 1440 Drøbak, Norway

is one of the two official addresses of St. Nicolaus (also known as Santa Clause, Father Christmas, Дед Мороз, Père Noël, Julemand, Babo Natale, 圣诞老人). But he gets extremely busy over the Christmas period.

Therefore ACH VA pilots are kindly requested to fly to Oslo to help him deliver the presents for children looked after by UNICEF to Berlin, from where they will be distributed further later on.

The real ACH contribution is an additional sponsoring scheme, alongside the regular statutory funding system. An extra 1 Euro will be funded for UNICEF for each flight ACH VA, or other, during this event.

All ACH-VA pilots are invited to take part!

We will take off from EKCH, on Friday, December 11, at about 17:30 UTC and fly to Oslo.
Then, after quick turnover (pilots are requested to have their flightplans and charts ready) - we'll load the presents at take off to Berlin Tegel. ETD: 19:15 UTC.

The Danish ATC will give us a goodbye, Sweedish and Norwegian VACCs are advertising our event on their forums, and East Bremen Radar is also waiting to give us a warm welcome and a cup of hot tea, so it looks like we are going to have a really nice evening flying through snowy Northern Europe!

For a bit of encouragement, Andrew - I got my Vatsim ID about 7 years ago, and made my first online flight ... 8 months ago :rofl: But you can make it shorter ;) - an "online training" session for ACH pilots who want to come out of silence is planned soon :hi:

our X-mas event is being advertised on VATSIM and at Vroute - we can expect pilots from other airlines as well. Thank you all who declared to take part, but we need more pilots!

I'd really like to join in this event... but having living in different time zone prohibits me to join this event, I'm already in Wonderland when this event starts (Sleeping).. :envy:

XMAS Event on Friday

Hallo,

I have a question about the EVENT on Friday. Are there any flights prepared in the dispatch Centre or must I book a flight via Charter

Can I use a airplane of my choice or must I choose a airplane of my restrictions (in that case ATR or Dash 7)

hi Oliver,
just use a charter plane, as it would be too much work to make scheduled plans just for a single event.
If you switch to Basic mode you can use any aircraft type you like.

Good old boys,

I'm really happy we will fly together on Friday. Again, as for events, to make it easy for ATC, please do not use callsigns generated by the charter system, as they will be too similar, use your ACH ID callsigns (but of course report the flights by the generated number :!: ;) )

Olivier, please accept apologies for moving the thread you started to this section, but monitoring one topic on different threads may be bit confusing. I hope you don't mind :oops: :hi:

Hello All,

I'd like to book the two event legs within Charter flights using the same aircarft.
So I can't scheduled two flight with the same aircraft.
Have I to select two different aircraft, one by leg?
