Monthly Group Flight

Hello Air-Child members,

after following this posts, I want to offer a new idea for the Monthly Group Flight. To be a little bit more flexible, I would suggest the following:

- We will change the Monthly Group Flight into a Weekly Group Flight with 52 legs
- The 52 legs are the Air-Child World-Flight.
- Assuming we will start at EDDK then we will go arround the world and will be back at EDDK one year later.
- We can keep Suterday as the day we want to fly. Until now we have always met us at 13:00 zulu, because this is the time where all people arround the world theoretically can join the flight. But in reality, most people will fly at there local evening time. Also you will have a better chance to get ATC at local evening times. So let's try to be a little bit more flexible. I would suggest to start with the Group Flight around the local evening time at the given Origin. But we can contact us in the forum like: "Who want's to fly the next leg at local time?" If there is nobody who want's to fly at local time, we are free to meet us on any other time or day. For this we can setup a special forum topic for the World-Flight.
- There is no need to fly every leg. If you can't fly a leg you can fly 2 legs the next week. Just ask in the forum if someone want's to fly with you. Or you will skip a leg. It's up to you and your time.
- If we will have a "TimeTable" for the World-Flight, we will know the all destinations from the beginning, so we have more time to find sceneries, charts... and can share them in the forum etc.
- Below are an example for a World-Flight. It's only an example to let you know what I mean. We can change everything here. I have tried to mix the flights in longer and shorter routes. Also I have tried to insert all our HUB's, interesting airports...

Route of proposed World Tour :)
 
I like the idea of the world tour very much. As always the biggest trouble is to bring the pilots together. From other groupe events I know about mailing lists. If I decide to fly a leg I sent an invetation to the mailing groupe. So people from different timezones are able to build there groupes. Of course the groupes will be smaller then before but maybe more people are able to fly. Anyway as I remember most people in the groupe flight have been from europe I never talked to US or Australian pilots. But for shure it is very difficult to get people together from different timezones. Most of us like flying online, others don't or do not care, some like IVAO others VATSIM. Some like to do the groupe flight in company with a friend and have a nice dinner after the event (like peter and me :D ) maybe others like to fly in shared cockpits. So the idea to invite for a flight seems good for me. I myself liked the saturdays even there is mostly no ATC at this time. If we start in the evening of the local timezone we have a good chance to find ATC. And for those who cannot participate a certain day they can fly on another day.
So the groupe event get another dimension, it means now that a groupe of Air-Child pilots fly a world tour on the same legs, to the same airports, in the same week and they all will arrive savely in cologne one year later and if it is possible they can fly together in a groupe.

I like the destinations of Norbert only that I like to start from cologne to poland and then to the north. EDDR to EPWA to ESSA etc.

I like Norbert idea. We may need to adjust the plan based on the first experience but let's try. A dedicated list in this forum where every week a leg is announced and people can sign up if able to attend is all we need - do I miss anything?

Count me in. I got a sugestion to change the plan this way, as Tom wrote leg 1 from Cologne to Warsaw, and then second leg from Warsaw to Copenhagen. Rest us follows

Warsaw Radar and Okecie app and or Tower are always from 19 to 21 UTC almost every day and weekends.

Great idea I am in . just additional thought . The vfr pilots I fly with they always fly Sundays and fridays same leg just for People they couldn't attend and wouldn't like to miss that leg or just some people wants to fly same leg twice to try a different approuch etc. Its realy good to have same leg flown twice ,the only down side is that if the leg is flown twice ,it will spread pilots into two days which will cut down on numbers of pilots flying at the same time . that is just thought . Otherwise looks great we should have a good fun. Thanks for that ,cheers Petr :goodjob:
 
I don't see that as a major problem: better two smaller group than 1 small group! (cause the others can't make it!)

I think it's a little bit to early. We have to exchance the route (EPWA was requested) and I want to know if someone want to see any other destination. Also I think it will be a good idea to give the World Tour a big GO. So I would say: Lets start next suterday! Any other Idea?

As we are able to be more open with our timing I will suggest to fly on saturday evening. so it is possible to meet some ATC:

Meeting time 18:45 Zulu at a gate of your choice.

I spoke to Peter, I think soon we will open a special World-Tour Meeting Topic where pilots can post the date and time when they intend to fly the leg, if they do not have the time to follow the here suggested departure time. If you mark the World-Tour Meeting Topic with Notify me when a reply is posted you will get an instand message by mail when a pilot is offering a new date and time, even if is 30min later as his forum message.

What about the route there is 3 possible are we going to choose one or it is on my own which one I want to fly?
