World Tour 2013

Dear Air-Child pilots,
here are the 52 legs which Norbert presented for the World Tour 2013. As you know from Norbert the destinations are suggestions and may be changed if wanted. The monthly group flight event is now cancelled.
We will fly one leg each week around the world. We start the tour in Cologne and end the tour in Cologne 52 weeks later. As it was very difficult to organise pilots from different time zones into one group for a flight, we thought a more open appointment system will help. This means there is no specific day and time for the flight of the leg - you are able to decide for yourself. You suggest a day and time in the World Tour Appointment forum topic and other pilots can join you, or you can join at a time already suggested. We hope this will result in more then one group for each leg.
I know we will have great destinations with challenging departures and approaches, we will have difficult airports and maybe bad weather and strong winds. So please, if you have a suggestion for a challenging flight, be free to post it here - anyway you are free to change a leg for yourself if you want to go to another airport, which should not be to far away from the original destination.

Important note!
You may enter the World Tour whenever you want! Enter this event at any time, at any leg or just fly only the legs which you want to fly - it is all about having fun with Air-Child. No further restrictions!

Re: World Tour 2013/14

Tonight 3 ACH pilots finished the 2nd leg from EPWA to ESSA. It was fun with ATC in EPWA and ESSA.
May I suggest another destination for leg 4. Instead going to Manchester I suggest Leeds Bradford. There is a nice scenery for FS9, FSX and for XPlane. Cause there are very often strong crosswinds landing might be a challenge. 8)
Cheers Tom

Re: World Tour 2013/14

Hi Tom , I personally don't mind the change , but would like to keep some order in that so at the and we don't get confuse where we are actually flying . Other request would be if we can have some kind of basic table for pilots who are flying this legs . Like name, number of legs flown , total miles , perhaps specific legs flown . It would be just easy to see for pilots who is flying legs in the different time then others . Also there are still two links from main page to monthly group flight which is no longer valid , can it be updated to world flights legs ? Thanks Petr

Hi Petr,
I made 2 new topics
1st World Tour 2013/14 - for general ideas about the World Tour like destination change or requesting - offering sceneries etc.
2nd World Tour Appointments - this topic should be only for the appointments between pilots to fly the next leg. If you choose the direct mail info after a new entry you will be up to date.

I think there is nothing to be confused. If we start now to use the 2 topics it will work well. About the destination - proposing a destination change is welcome. As Nprbert said in one of his mails - his list is also a proposal. I asked for Leeds instead of Manchester - cause I like this small airport. If you like more Manchester just go for it. If Manchester will be our destination I will choose EGNM as alternate and maybe switch over during flight :)

Your other proposals are difficult to make in the moment cause Peter, who programs the website, is very busy in his real life job - I hope he will manage to direct the 2 new topics on the main site of ACH.

About the 2 links on the main page - yes Peter will do this soon - but there are other things in the moment which are more important - like moving the whole ACH server to another system :)
I hope I answered your questions well.
See you soon Tom

Re: World Tour 2013/14

Hi Tom, yes that answer all . Thanks for quick response . Also I did think that it wouldn't be easy to and time consuming , hope it'll be in the future . Happy flying Petr

Re: World Tour 2013/14

XPlane Pilots who want to go to Leeds Bradford instead to Manchester - please look in the X-Plane Secrets.
Cheers Tom

Re: World Tour 2013 Appointments

@ Rafal and Alex - sorry guys I had to logout before we all were at the gates - I got a problem with the computer. Anyway it was a nice flight with a very busy Amsterdam. Looking forward for Leg4.
Cheers Tom

Re: World Tour 2013 Appointments

Hi!
Yeah! The Amsterdam airport is busy, lots of traffic.
See you on Leg4.
Blue sky to all!

Re: World Tour 2013 Appointments

hi

Finally on ground. flight great because of a lot of atc, but for me it was a nightmare. First trouble with aircraft in the air then I set wrong frequency for ILS because of different scenery got go arround. After landing got problem with parking cause of scenery hope the guys from dutch vacc don't hate me :?

Re: World Tour 2013 Appointments

Well, that was good. Next time i'll try to remember to install teamspeak :)))

You guys probably know this, but www.flyawaysimulations.com is a good freeware site for scenery

Hmm,
this site does not show me freeware scenery, it is just a collection of more or less flightsim related links. I have no idea what the new Opel Adam, a secret learning english tip or the job agency Monsters has anything to do with flightsim - this is what I see beneath Aerosoft etc.
Maybe you posted the wrong link David :?:

BTW David - Norbert offered you a training in Online flying with Vatsim and Airchild. Are you still interested in learning how to do this?
Cheers Tom

Sure,Im not one to pass a good opportunity :) . I do fly on vatsim and am comfortable with it even tho im a newbie! I can get turned around on the taxiway and bolo a star and sid with the best of em ;) . If you remember about a year or so ago there was a post where I told a fellow ACH pilot that it was perfectly fine to text on vatsim. I believe he was also half way deaf, or had a mic problem. One of the controllers responded to the post and basically said that texters put too much of a workload on those controlling especially when theres a lot of traffic. I understand the sentiment and took no offense. Which is why I avoid airports on vatsim with high amounts of traffic. One of my solutions was to enter this in flt plan remarks:Newb, Hearing impaired,if trouble communicating please text and I will respond on voice. Sometimes it works, other times not so much. I will find a flt during this world tour when either you or Norbert is online and surprise ya. Usually on a wochenende.

Sounds good David - about text on Vatsim for me there is a problem with FSINN if I do switch to much in and out the text gauge I will ge a crash. FSINN and FSX is not made to work together - it works but you must be carefully. FSX and FSINN are two Divas if you do not treat them like they want - they just go.... So using text is the much more safe method while flying online, and it is much quicker. Of course there are some phases you have to know and sometimes you have to ask - please say it again - but with a bit of time anybody is able to learn it - and it is much more realistic.
Maybe we see us on the next leg.
Cheers Tom

Dear Pilots,
Leg5 will bring us to BIKF Iceland. As I know there are sceneriers for FS9, FSX and XPlane.
Leg6 will got to BGSF Grönland. There is a scenery for FSX, maybe also for FS9. We tried to convert a FSX version for XP, but it does not work. So if anybody has this airport for FS9 or XP - please let me know.
Cheers Tom
