FS Flight Keeper Setup

Do not laugh! :)
But I'd like to :giggle:

... just because I know your troubles very well! I mostly ignore the unfair stuff and humbly accept what I really messed up. Today I made a flight to Paro, Buthan. The 5 nm final starts at 10000 ft and gets you really busy. Definitely not the time to care for landing lights. So what? ;)

But there's always a solution: find the file "FlightCritique.cfg" (usually in "my documents > FS Flight Keeper") and edit it. For example the transition ...
Code:
<i>
</i>[Altimeter]
On  = 1
Variation	= 1000
Tolerance	= 0.1
Delay = 5
Penalty = 10
You can increase the tolerance, decrease the penalty or disable it completely by setting On = 0

taxi speed:
Code:
<i>
</i>[Taxispeed]
On  = 1
Value	 = 30
Penalty = 5
Set it to 45 or so, for high speed taxi rolls

N1:
Code:
<i>
</i>[MaxEngineSetting]
On = 1
Value	 = 105
Penalty = 7.5
Typical penalty for the 744. Increase to 115% and the problem should be gone.

Just a few examples here. You can set all values for the flight critique in that one file.
Good luck!

Thanks Peter for your hints!

Yes, all of us can do this changes in the given file, just then I am a bit disappointed because I thought we can have a common and standard measure to evaluate and rate our flights, our performances, unfortunately it is not possible, we can not challenge each other (in this way).

Hello Tibor,

I just would say one thing:

I've built one Critique file for each aircraft I fly.
Mainly for Concorde which has in Europe 280 kts under 10.000 ft. and don't has beacon (called strobes by FSLabs) etc.

So don't worry.....

Happy landings
Pierre ;)

I like those critics - I had problems with the reverse it started more then one time - those I end up as a disaster pilot :) - you are right peter - who cares....? hopefully I do not do disaster with my real world paraglider 8)

Cheers Tom

First of all: Thanx for that nice introduction to FSFK! :yes:
I'm not very familar with it yet, so I have a (maybe stupid) question about the ACARS Module.
When I loaded my flightplan into FSFK and finished all settings, I activate ACARS.
Does it move my flightplan also to the FMC of my PMG 737? And is it working with the A320 too???

No, it will not move flightplans to aircrafts FMC. It just record all parameters of flight so you can send report later. And live ACARS is about your flight to be displayed on live map, in real time.
On each flight, just load the flight in fsx as usual, and after you are at the gate, with engines not runing and fuel and load set - start FSFK and select "new flight", press "connect to fsx and start logging" and after that "connect with live ACARS server". And you are good to go, FSFK will record your flight untill you shut down the engines, you will get in sim msg when FSFK disconnects

Hi! I have this problem every time i open mi FS FLIGHT KEEPER.

Any idea about what could be the problem :?:
Thanks!!

Hi,

Have you by any chance changed your password on the Air-Child website lately?

If you have, I think you have to redownload the config file from your profile again.

No i don't. But before write here i downloaded again the configuration and it doesn't improve.

According to thread, the problem is with your FSFK not being able to see the VA server.

No firewall blocking FSFK access to internet or anything like that?

Two or three times this week I had problems connecting to the Airchild server. If the server wasn't responding you couldn't send your pirep. Since you didn't have problems before that may be reason. Might not be on your end. Try to send again.

I re installed the fs flight keeper and the problems still happen. No, the firewall doesen't was the problem. I don't know what more do. :x

Emiliano, don't give up! I know when we have problems with software it can be really frustrating. I suggest that you run Fsfk in debug mode then send the file to Moliter. He is usually pretty quick with response. I'm assuming that you followed our pilots manual. Sometimes when you copy and paste or type something in a block, there can be an extra space or character or typo that can mess things up. Also sometimes we can put things in wrong place. Anyway Moliter should be able to tell you what's wrong. Also if using windows you might want to make sure program has admin rights.

Thank you all for your help. Incredibly as named some, this was one of those things without explanation since it solved alone. Thank you very much :hi:

Well, I think it's a server problem child air, because after trying to connect in today with Fs Flight Keeper and failed, tried to fly with Fs Passengers and I get this poster:

Shame :( At least with both FSFK and FSP you can upload the flight later when it is working.

Are other people experiencing problems also? I know David mentioned some above.

Will have to wait until Peter is around to look at the logs and find out what is happening in the background.

i have completed the flight today without problems - flight kepper worked!

So Emiliano, check your settings and firewall. Check both, windows firewall and antivirus firewall if you using it. Just ensure FSFK is not blocked, if you can't see it - add it to list and allow all connections

No, it's not a firewall issue. Even after writing about my problem here I managed to make a flight and send without problem yesterday. Today I opened the FSFK and opened without that annoying fault. When attempting to start the flight, jumped the error. I closed the program and opened it again and start jumping and an error. Then I tried to make the flight in the FSPAS and at the end gave the poster. Notably, and not changed anything in my system configuration having flown a couple of months with both programs without any problem.
If I could complete the flight yesterday and today i couldn't i don't think it's firewall issue.
Thank you!
